On July 3, 2009 and two weeks prior.... a 250-300 pound black bear was in my yard in Aspen Park Colorado at 3:30 and 5:30 AM, overturning trash cans and rummaging through garbage. My dog alerted me to his presence both nights. He is becoming a regular, as he has been seen in the area for a couple of years. I think he lives in the mountain area right behind Aspen Park.

July 11, 2009, Brookforest, Evergreen, CO, a small reddish brown bear cub - about a year old, we think -spotted walking through the woods behind our house just after dark. We shined a high powered flashlight on him and he was definitely the lighter red brown color than the black bears that we see All The Time around here. We have bear scat on our lower porch.

He arrived about 4 am and then again about 4:30. He or she was very big. He has been around for some time but this is the first time this year.I wish animal control would move this animal somewhere else.

In the wee hours of the morning a full grown cinnamon colored bear smashed into my boot room and pulled a bag of trash outside to feast on it. He ran off briefly when I showed up to check on things but then returned shortly thereafter. Is this normal here in Colorado? I am in Rafter J, off Deer Trail. It makes me nervous because it could have just as easily have been my front window.

August 7, 2014 17:45 between Lodgepole Circle and Brook Forest Drive, about 1 mile N north of the Brook Forest Inn sighted a black bear, medium to large in size. Bear initially stood it's ground and maintain visual contact with me. After yelling at it very loudly a few times (3 or 4) it quickly climbed a tree and I backed out of the area and alerted a jogger who was entering the area about the sighting.
